Châteauroux, France, July 23 – August 7, 2025.
Hungarian marksman István Péni, proudly sponsored by ELEY Ammunition, delivered a commanding performance to secure gold in the Men’s 50 m Rifle 3 Positions event at the 2025 European Shooting Championships. In a show-stopping final, Péni not only clinched the title but also set a new European record, achieving a remarkable score of 467.1.
The new record surpassed the previous score of 466.1, set by Czech athlete Jiří Přívratský in his performance at the 2023 ISSF World Cup in Baku. Péni delivered an exceptional performance in the standing position, distancing himself from France’s Lucas Kryzs, who earned silver with a 464.9, while Serbia’s Marko Ivanović claimed bronze.
Péni’s qualification round was equally impressive, as he scored 592 (with a breakdown of kneeling 195, prone 200, standing 197) during the preliminary competition held on 26 July 2025, propelling him confidently into the final.
This achievement underscores Péni’s elite status among international shooters and reinforces his trajectory as a top competitor on the world stage.
