Why Can’t I Find My Batch Number in the ELEY Lot Analyser?

Almost always because of the product, not the batch. Lot Analyser coverage works product by product, and all lots are now published for eight products: ELEY tenex, tenex pistol, tenex biathlon, tenex rapid fire pistol, match, semi-auto .22LR benchrest precision, ultra and club. If the box in your hand is one of those, every lot of it is on the system. If it is a product outside that list, it will not appear, which is a coverage boundary rather than a fault with the ammunition or with your code.

ELEY has made significant changes to the Lot Analyser recently, and coverage of those eight products is now complete. If you searched for a batch some time ago and found nothing, it is worth searching again.

Check your box against that list before troubleshooting anything else. The list spans the premium rifle range, the pistol rounds, the biathlon round, the semi-automatic benchrest round, the long-range round and ELEY club, so most shooters looking for proof data will find their product on it.

Then Check You Have Entered the Whole Code

The next most common cause is entering a partial code. ELEY batch numbers run per loader, so the three-digit batch number on its own is not unique: batch 244 from loader 04 is a different production run from batch 244 from loader 07.

An ELEY batch code takes the form 10 26-04 244 over 1045. Reading the upper line:

ElementExampleMeaning
First pair10Loaded product
Second pair26Year of manufacture (2026)
Third pair04Loader number
Final group244Batch number for that loader

The lower line, 1045, is the mean velocity across four barrels during proofing, not part of the batch identity.

Enter the code exactly as printed on the box, including the loader number, and read it from the box rather than from a note. Transposed digits return nothing.

If a Covered Product Still Will Not Appear

[ELEY TO ADD: the correct support contact route (email address and/or web form) for a shooter whose batch is one of the covered products but still returns no record in the Lot Analyser.]

What to Do in the Meantime

If your batch cannot be looked up, you have not lost anything you cannot recover another way. The box still carries the four-barrel proof mean velocity on the lower line of the code, which is a genuine comparative marker between batches.

Beyond that, the definitive answer for any batch is how it performs in your barrel. ELEY operates batch testing centres in the United Kingdom, Hungary, Germany, the United States and Canada, where up to 20 batches can be evaluated through your own rifle: ten shots from each, the best performers shortlisted, then a further 30 shots until a 40-shot group size and consolidated score is recorded for each. Batch testing is open to anyone and is booked at eley.co.uk/vip.

The Bottom Line

Lot Analyser coverage is by product. All lots are published for ELEY tenex, tenex pistol, tenex biathlon, tenex rapid fire pistol, match, semi-auto .22LR benchrest precision, ultra and club. If your product is on that list the batch is there, and the usual cause of a failed search is a partial code entered without the loader number. If your product is not on the list, no lot of it will appear.

Either way, the measure that decides your ammunition is the one taken through your own barrel. Book batch testing at eley.co.uk/vip.
